A hands-on exploration of sound and design — this Bluetooth speaker evolved from cardboard prototypes to a laser-cut MDF enclosure powered by the XY-P40W amp and a generic 8-ohm driver.

The 3D-printed bass-reflex port, airtight sealing, and foam damping transform simple parts into rich, controlled audio.
Built for under ₹900, this project redefines affordable sound through curiosity, iteration, and acoustic design thinking.

Cardboard Chamber Testing

I started with the box of the driver itself and cut out a whole in it.

This was mainly to see the difference when the driver is placed inside a hollow chamber.

A discarded filament box was used (slightly bigger volume) and all electronics were also put to the test.

The chamber created a much deeper sound then the speaker independently produced!

MDF Chamber Testing

I attached the driver to the front face of the chamber using 4 M4 screws.

I then soldered the 16-gauge wire to the driver.

An angled baffle redirects rear sound waves downward and out through the front port, turning air movement into added bass. The design controls how sound flows inside the box—creating richer, more balanced audio.

First Sealed Test

The sound just got 5X better when the chamber was partially sealed.
